About Me

Antonio Lopes is a devoted freelance performer, educator, band leader, and producer based in northern Iowa. He has been proud to call the region "home" after arriving from California in 2019 and he became an active performer in Iowa and Minnesota almost instantly. Antonio graduated from Waldorf University magna cum laude with BA's in Instrumental Performance and Arts Management. He has performed with notable Iowa groups, organizations, and individuals such as BYOBrass, Anthony Orji, Carson Parker, the Max Wellman Big Band, Will Barnett & Company, the Mason City Municipal Band, the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Vinylfest, the Cherokee Symphony, The Mockingbirds, and many more in addition to performing works with members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Dodge Area Symphony. In addition to being a sideman, Antonio also directs his own groups -  the Antonio Lopes Trio and Quartet.

Antonio is an active conductor and clinician at high schools around northern Iowa. He currently directs percussion ensembles and drumline in addition to assisting with concert band and jazz band for the great band programs at Clear Lake High School, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School, and Humboldt High School. Antonio is proud to offer private lessons through the historic Surf Ballroom's Music Enrichment Center. His bespoke percussion lessons and services cater to all levels, from beginners to fellow seasoned musicians. With a focus on jazz, orchestral, and marching styles, Antonio provides a versatile percussion experience that nurtures a passion for music. 

 

Antonio's passion for electronic music production has spanned over ten years. Being an active fan of trance music for just as long, he is excited to finally make his debut in the scene with his latest single, "In Your Name", dedicated to his dog and former furry best friend, Max. It is available now on all streaming platforms.
